Lid won't lock in

There is a safety lock on the lid of the bowl. There are two tabs that need to lock in to release the safety lock to allow the processor to turn on. Only one will lock in. I've taken two pictures to show what I'm talking about, as I'm sure I may be hard to understand. I just can not seem to get this lid to lock in. please take a look at the pictures and tell me if you know how I can fix this problem. I'm so frustrated, I just want to use the appliance.
